Grade will be posted as S/U (Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory) and is coded as graduate credit on transcripts. 

 

Course Description: 

This course is designed for teachers who want to study, gather, and create STEM projects for their classroom. We know best practice innovation, creativity, problem solving, and teamwork are when developing career-ready learners. This class encourages us to reflect on current practices and design more frequent opportunities for self-discovery, exploration, and differentiation in our practice. By the end of this course, we will understand the “why” of STEM learning and also have a treasure trove of projects to utilize NOW!

 

Course Objectives:

1. Analyze rationale for STEM instruction in the classroom.

2. Hypothesize outcomes of traditional instruction and STEM instruction.

3. Reflect on efficacy of previous lessons you have taught.

4. Discover strategies for enhancing STEM instruction in your classroom.

5. Create units of study for each area of STEM emphasis (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).

6. Construct an action plan to infuse STEM instruction in your classroom.
