Catalog Description: This course is designed for teachers who want to learn more about using EdTech in the classroom. Through the course, students will explore six different online tools. While exploring and creating projects with these tools, students will reflect on the efficacy of these tools and why (or why not) these tools should/could be used and their benefits on student engagement and learning. The information in this course can be used in any class as an alternative, modification, or augmentation to traditional assignments and assessments.

 

Required Text(s) and Other Materials: Laptop or Desktop computer with a microphone and webcam

 

Course Objectives:

 

1. The student will create and design projects for classroom use.

2. The student will design lesson plans & project examples, while identifying ways to implement the following tools in their classroom: Book Creator, Miro, Nearpod, Animoto, Gimkit, & Blooket.

3. The student will analyze, evaluate, and reflect on each of the tools on the tools’ efficacy regarding student engagement and learning.

4. The student will use technology to foster collaboration within their classroom.

5. The student will implement curriculum methods and strategies that use technology to maximize student learning

6. The student will use technology to facilitate learning beyond the walls of the classroom.
