Course Description:
All educators are leaders. Teachers lead in the classroom, court and field. Studies have shown leadership is a characteristic that can be taught and learned. The educator will learn not only how to improve their ability to lead, but also how to help others become leaders. This class takes the leadership lessons imparted by the fictional character Ted Lasso and builds upon them with researched evidenced based solutions.
Course Objectives: At the end of the course, students will be able to
Understand the process of teaching leadership
Understand various factors that affect leadership and how to address them
Identify strategies that maximize the ability to lead and teacher leadership
Identify practical skills needed to provide direction in the classroom
Identify ways to prevent, manage, and solve leadership issues
Understand and explain how to effectively collaborate with others in the school and surrounding schools to manage more effectively
Explore ways to lead everywhere
Teach leadership within your own family
Improve time management skills to become more productive at teaching leadership
How to incorporate strategies to help your students become better leaders
