Catalog Description: GET GRADUATE CREDIT FOR THE HARD WORK AND COUNTLESS HOURS AS A COACH! All families have values, even if they aren’t discussed explicitly. There are certain behaviors that are encouraged and discouraged — like rules of the road — for how everyone is going to (try to) get along and spend their time. Teams aren’t really that different. Pull together a group of people to work on any project, and they will develop a culture of their own, and it will be as unique as the people in the group. As a coach, it is your leadership and vision that creates a winning team culture. Becoming a master coach takes continuous effort. To avoid the loss of enthusiasm or static practice, coaches need to focus on their own professional development. FINALLY, a course that recognizes coaches don’t have summers or breaks “off.” You are reflecting, re-tooling, re-evaluating the classroom and teaching constantly! coaches spend so much of their off-contract time physically and mentally preparing for welcoming student-athletes back to summer activities, back to new sports season, and the list goes on and on…

Required Text(s) and Other Materials: All materials will be provided by the instructor in the learning management system portal.
